Cheruba Prabakar, MD
Dr. Cheruba Prabakar is a board-certified OBGYN and a fellowship-trained minimally invasive surgeon. She is the founder and CEO of her own private practice, Lamorinda Gynecology and Surgery, where she seeks to provide longitudinal medical and surgical care from menarche to menopause and beyond in a personalized, accessible, and sustainable way.
Dr. Prabakar spent the first 12 years of her life in a small town in South India, where she first witnessed the injustices to which women were exposed. She later completed her training in Brooklyn, New York where she saw a very diverse patient population and first developed an expertise in treating women with fibroids, many of whom experience heavy bleeding, pain, and infertility. Dr. Prabakar then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in California and began practicing in Oakland. She is now known as “The Fibroid Doc,” specializing in robotic surgery and striving to help her patients achieve their goals and enjoy their lives to the fullest.
Dr. Prabakar holds a BA in Neuroscience from Smith College and attended medical school at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
