Alyssa Schatz, MSW
Alyssa Schatz, MSW (she/her) serves as the Vice President of Policy and Advocacy for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a not for profit alliance of leading academic cancer centers working to improve and facilitate quality, effective, equitable, and accessible cancer care. At NCCN, Ms. Schatz is responsible for oversight of the Policy and Advocacy Department and is the primary point of contact for policymakers and regulators. The Policy and Advocacy team works to advance NCCN’s mission in health policy realms through policy engagement, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining NCCN, Ms. Schatz spent more than a decade in behavioral health and disability rights advocacy on behalf of peer led-organizations and provider associations Ms. Schatz was involved in securing Medicaid expansion in Pennsylvania and advocating for the implementation of behavioral health parity rights. Ms. Schatz received a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Macro Practice from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the Eastern Connecticut State University School of Social Work. Ms. Schatz is a Doctor of Public Health candidate at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
