Dr. Cheruba Prabakar, CEO of Lamorinda Gynecology and Surgery and AWHP Advisory Council Member, has devoted her career to helping patients meet and exceed their health goals. Known as the “The Fibroid Doc,” Dr. Prabakar has spent much of her career treating a diverse patient population. She specializes in robotic surgery and strives to help her patients achieve their goals and enjoy their lives to the fullest. 

The veteran doctor is uniquely focused on helping women with uterine fibroids live a life with reduced bleeding, pain, and improved fertility. Through her extensive work, Dr. Prabakar has proven her commitment to AWHP’s mission of driving equitable access to care that improves the lives and health of all women and girls. 

This Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month, we sat down with Dr. Prabakar to discuss her background in women’s health as an OB-GYN, her advice to patients searching for a healthcare provider they can trust, and her message to those nervous about seeking out gynecological care.
