Leading With Purpose: Paving the Way for More Equitable and Accessible Preventive Healthcare

As 2024 draws to a close, the Alliance for Women’s Health & Prevention (AWHP) is excited to share highlights from this year’s efforts. Throughout 2024, we were thrilled to strengthen and expand our relationships with leading voices in women’s health while raising awareness and advocating for better preventive healthcare for all women.

This year, AWHP achieved significant milestones in advancing women’s health.

  • We launched the EveryBODY Covered campaign with over 20 leading healthcare organizations to empower women in advocating for comprehensive obesity care coverage. Efforts included Hill meetings to support the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA).
  • We issued more than 35 sign-on letters to advance women’s preventive health access, including support for COVID-19 vaccine availability and the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research.
  • We hosted our first Leadership Meeting, bringing together stakeholders to discuss preventive screening, vaccine uptake, obesity care, mental health, and outreach to young women.
  • We highlighted important issues through our “Women Leaders in Medicine” Fireside Chat series, focusing on cancer prevention, mental health, and women’s health research investments.

To learn more about our work, we welcome you to read our 2024 End of Year Report. AWHP is eager to hit the ground running in 2025 and to continue our progress in uplifting and empowering women to seek the preventive care they need.

AWHP would like to thank all our partners for their support in 2024 and look forward to the achievements we reach in 2025. Together, we have made incredible strides to advance preventive health for women and girls. Our work would not be possible without you. We wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy holiday season.

Blessings,
Millicent
